Description of problem: When starting up a system and it is configured after previously running sys-unconfig, the ifcfg-ethX files are not populated with the data/information supplied. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): initscripts-8.45.38-2.el5 How reproducible: every time a new host is booted Steps to Reproduce: 1. Execute sys-unconfig 2. Shut machine down 3. Boot up and follow steps for configuring the host 4. At the network step, fill in correct information for the network 5. Navigate to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and see if the ifcfg-ethX files are populated with the correct information. In RHEL 5, network configuration at this step is done by system-config-network-tui. Reassigning.
I can verify, that system-config-network-tui after sys-unconfig fill network-scripts (and /etc/resolv.conf) right. (IP, netmask, gateway, dns,.) Testing with: system-config-network-1.3.99.23-1.el5
