RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2012:0772 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE virt-viewer bug fix and enhancement update 2012-06-19 20:35:11 UTC

Description Marc-Andre Lureau 2012-03-01 16:13:36 UTC
Legacy USB redirection support requires "foreign menu" support.

Virt-viewer needs to serve a "foreign menu" socket in order for the old usb redirection client-side to start correctly in rhel6, and to allow switching redirected devices with the "foreign menu".

virt-viewer upstream has the necessary bits, and should fix that bug with the upcoming 0.5.2 release.

I cannot get enough information from comments in this bug. So I'm not sure how to test this bug. Please provide me some more details so I can get clear what should I do for this bug. Thanks.

Comment 7 Geyang Kong 2012-03-12 09:07:20 UTC
This menu is visible on build virt-viewer-0.5.2-1.el6.x86_64, but bug 758645 and bug 758104 are not verified. I cannot test its function now.

Comment 8 Geyang Kong 2012-03-26 07:31:42 UTC
Verified pass on the build
virt-viewer-0.5.2-3.el6.x86_64
qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.248.el6.x86_64

Reproduced steps:
1. Follow this link: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/UsbNetworkRedirection
2. Click "input->Select USB devices for redirection"
3. Choose devices and click OK.

Actual result:
1. USB devices can be redirected to guest successfully.

Change this bug to VERIFIED.
