This fixes a buffer overflow (https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=75623) and it will go into older Fedoras too.
Fixed as perl-Socket-2.000-1.fc18 in F18.
perl-Socket-2.000-2.fc17 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 17.
perl-Socket-2.000-1.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16.

* was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing perl-Socket-2.000-2.fc17'
