Description of problem: while adding Bodo language to language list, it was not there in Region and Language list in Control-Center, while locale is present in Glibc (locale -a) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: every-time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Control-Center 2. Region & Language 3. Language -> + Search for bodo Actual results: no language for Bodo name Expected results: it should be there as supported by locale system Additional info: $ls /usr/share/i18n/locales/brx_IN $locale -a|grep brx brx_IN brx_IN.utf8
version: control-center-3.3.91-1.fc17.x86_64 glibc-2.15-28.fc17.x86_64
just copy the Hindi translations in /usr/share/locale/brx/LC_MESSAGES directory and you will see Bodo listed in langauge list.
gnome-control-center comes with a debugging tool in panels/common/list-languages, and it says: [mclasen@localhost common]$ ./list-languages | grep brx common-cc-panel-DEBUG: Ignoring 'brx_IN.utf8' as a locale, since it lacks translations common-cc-panel-DEBUG: Ignoring 'brx_IN' as a locale, since it lacks translations
Agree translations are not available. But we do have locale and IMHO we are not allowing user to login in his own locale and get locale specific things like Time, sorting etc. Might be better criteria for having language listed in Regional and Language setting is locale definition in glibc.
