Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 807816
Xalan-c segfaults on any input
Last modified: 2013-10-14 12:07:54 EDT
Description of problem:
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Xalan test.xml test.xsl
XML to be transformed using the xsl stylesheet
Mar 29 08:13:33 dev kernel: Xalan: segfault at 18 ip 00007fa1b0eb2cb9 sp 00007fffec347950 error 4 in libxalan-c.so.110.0[7fa1b0c2d000+3e2000]
The same bug does not exist in the i686 version of this package.
I also see this issue:
Sep 30 17:52:01 admin kernel: Xalan: segfault at 18 ip 00007f5b44758cb9 sp 00007fffa8ff33d0 error 4 in libxalan-c.so.110.0[7f5b444d3000+3e2000]
I did a bit of work with this and it would seem the xalan-c-1.10.0-new-xerces-c.patch in xalan-c isn't working as intended.
A simple solution is to upgrade to the latest version of xalan-c and xerces-c: http://www.noodles.net.nz/2013/09/30/xalan-segfault/
xalan-c-1.11.0-1.el6 has been submitted as an update for Fedora EPEL 6.
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora EPEL 6 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=epel-testing xalan-c-1.11.0-1.el6'
as soon as you are able to.
