Description of problem: initscripts uses /var/lib/dhclient/dhclient{6}-${DEVICE}.leases as the lease file name. It would be nice if NM could notice this as being newer/active and copy it to its own lease file on startup, allowing more seamless lease takeover. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEL 6 NM

Since RHEL 6.3 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as exception or blocker. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
I think this is a duplicate of, or strongly related to, bug #607921. Note I've just attached a patch to that bug, which modifies the sysv networking scripts to use the same lease file format as NetworkManager. This is just another way to solve the same problem: rather than changing NetworkManager to copy the initscripts file over when it starts, we just change the initscripts file to use the same file format as NetworkManager.
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in a release.
