Description Leonid Mamtchenkov 2003-01-15 14:11:01 UTC
Description of problem:
The default configuration file for amanda-server provided by redhat suggests
using user "amanda" (group "disk"). Permissions on the /usr/lib/amanda are 700
with owner root.root, though.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
amanda-2.4.2p2-9
amanda-client-2.4.2p2-9
amanda-devel-2.4.2p2-9
amanda-server-2.4.2p2-9

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. rpm -ivh amanda*
2. grep -i "^dumpuser" -r /etc/amanda/
3. ls -ald /usr/lib/amanda/

Actual results:
Results of step 2: /etc/amanda/DailySet1/amanda.conf:dumpuser "amanda" # the
user to run dumps under
Results of step 3: drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Jan 15 15:35
/usr/lib/amanda/

Expected results:
/usr/lib/amanda/* should be something closer to owner root.disk with permissions
drwxrwx--- .

I've already put out a new amanda rpm for 8.1 (avaliable in the betas) that
fixes this.
