Unlocalized string 'Section: Name:' in config module
Hi Lijun, I left them in English in purpose, and I can't see any benefit of localizing them, but I can translate them into zh-CN if it's strong recommended from client's side. regards Leah (In reply to comment #3) > Hi Lijun, > > I left them in English in purpose, and I can't see any benefit of localizing > them, but I can translate them into zh-CN if it's strong recommended from > client's side. > > regards > Leah Hi Leah, Thanks for your explication, I see and I filed the bug as I saw that other languages translated it to locale characters. Thanks, Robert If the string is showing up as translated, I'm considering this fixed. It's not fixed on subscription-manager-0.99.18-1.el6.x86_64. (In reply to comment #3) > Hi Lijun, > > I left them in English in purpose, and I can't see any benefit of localizing > them, but I can translate them into zh-CN if it's strong recommended from > client's side. > > regards > Leah Hi Leah, According to comment 4, since it is translated in other languages, there's no reason we do not translate it for zh_CN. Could you fix it asap? We would like to get it fixed by snapshot 5. moving back to Assigned. Thanks, Keqin (In reply to comment #10) > > Hi Leah, > > According to comment 4, since it is translated in other languages, there's no > reason we do not translate it for zh_CN. > > Could you fix it asap? > We would like to get it fixed by snapshot 5. > > moving back to Assigned. > > Thanks, > Keqin Hi Keqin, Leah is the Technical Translator person for Simplified Chinese (zh_CN) at Red hat and I think she would be the best person to make a judgement about whether a particular message should be translated, transliterated or kept in English itself. However, if you see this as a customer demand or some other critical reason to have a particular (mentioned) message translated, Leah would help us. Thanks! Ankit If translator say's it's okay as is, I'm going to move this to MODIFIED. Hi Ankit, As per comment 4, Section and Name are translated in other languages like ja_JP, etc. While I can't see any customer demand or some other critical reason for zh_CN at the moment, leaving it unlocalized breaks the consistency across different Languages. I also tend to agree with Leah that there is not any benefit of localizing them. The only one I could see is consistency across languages. Is it acceptable that we translate a string in some languages but not in others? If this is acceptable, I am fine with it untranslated in zh_CN. If not, pls make it translated. Thanks, Keqin (In reply to comment #13) > Hi Ankit, > > As per comment 4, Section and Name are translated in other languages like > ja_JP, etc. > While I can't see any customer demand or some other critical reason for > zh_CN at the moment, leaving it unlocalized breaks the consistency across > different Languages. Thanks, Keqin (In reply to comment #15) > Hi Ankit / Adrian, > > In this case, I propose closing this bus as WONTFIX. > > Thanks, > Keqin I believe it should be closed as "NOTABUG" rather. /Ankit Agree with Ankit. Closing as NOTABUG |
