Description of problem: With the upgrade 4.2, the "additional comment" field moved to the top of the bug instead of being below the existing comments. That means that now I have to scroll all the way down to read the latest comments, then click on the "add comment" link if I'm right at the bottom or scroll all the way back up to write something, then scroll all the way back down to get more information, then up to write, then down, then up, then .... This is really, really painful on bugs with just a few entries, let alone bugs with 50 or more entries and several people adding comments to them... This is a major regression in UI design. Most people are adding comments that reference the last couple of comments added to the bugzilla, so moving the "new comment" field away from that area that they are likely to be reading and referencing means much more scrolling and input actions to get exactly the same review and comment input completed. This seems like an arbitrary change just to make the new release look and feel different to the old release - I can see no good reason for moving the comment box away from the context where it is most useful and has been located for many, many years. You can change the location of this box at: Preferences -> General preferences -> Position of the Additional Comments box The change is part of upstream's Bugzilla 4.0 changes. -- simon
so how about changing the site default to the same as the previous configuration to stop everyone from complaining about this arbitrary and silly change of defaults?
