Description of problem: Please include http://pgxn.org/dist/pg_journal/ extension in Postgresql package. It provides better integration with Fedora's logging system, the journal.
It is generally a bad idea, and I think actually against our packaging policy, for a single SRPM to include multiple upstream tarballs. (To point out just one reason why, which version number would you use for the package?) So I'm not going to consider adding this to the postgresql packages. The right way to approach this issue would be to get pg_journal added as a new, separate Fedora package. Perhaps you can interest Devrim in that, or failing that, you could become a packager yourself.
Hi, AFAICS this depends on sd-journal.h, which is not available in Fedora (might be available in Debian though), so it does not seem to be easy to package. Regards, Devrim
Hm it has been available since the journal got introduced into fedora as in systemd-devel package on F17 and F18. Has this module been submitted upstream for inclusion in postgresql?
