I have two monitors attached to my Nvidia graphics card. Every time I start KDE the system sets my left monitor as "clone of" my right monitor. Even after I change the settings and select "Save as Default" Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kde-workspace-4.8.3-3.fc17.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start the system 2. Log into KDE 3. Start "System Settings" 4. Select "Display and Monitor" 5. Mouse to "DVI-I-2 (Connected) 6. Select "Position", click the drop-down menu 7. Change box from "Clone of" to "Left of" 8. Click "Apply"' 9. Click "Accept Current Configuration" 10. Select "Save as Default"' 11. Revoot the Computer 12. Log into KDE Actual results: KDE logs on with my Left monitor being a "Clone of" my right monitor. Expected results: KDE should log on with the same settings I just "Saved as Default". My left monitor should be "Left of" my right monitor. Additional info: VGA compatible controller : nVidia Corporation NV41 [Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI] I am using the nouveau driver.
I don't have to reboot for this to happen. Logging out of KDE, and logging back is sufficient to recreate the bug. -Dave
