Description of problem: in /usr/libexec/os-probes/mounted/90linux-distro, os-prober checks if /lib*/ld*.so* exists. If it does, it assumes the partition contains a Linux distribution. However, after usrmove, ld.so now resides in /usr/lib, thus from the point of view of the /usr partition, it's in /lib. Hence, os-prober will incorrectly report that an unknown Linux distribution has been found on the /usr partition. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): os-prober-1.53-1.fc17.i686 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. grub2-mkconfig Actual results: "Found unknown Linux distribution on /dev/sda5" Expected results: /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober detects no unknown distros if there aren't any Additional info: How about the converse: Since ld.so is now in /usr/lib, not /lib, can osprober still detect usrmove linux distributions if installed with split-off /usr?
