Description of problem: Sometimes it happens that a yum command run by user cannot complete because some other application is holding the lock. Yum then waits for freeing the lock, and it is quite annoying if the lock is grabbed by some other background process instead of the one run by the user, so that the user has to wait for another process to finish. Please implement some better locking logic which would give higher priority to user action. I refer to bug #810530 for examples.

Fedora 17 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-07-30. Fedora 17 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates.
