Description of problem: Nautilus smb browser seems to list shares on smb servers by doing equivalent of smbclient -L srv -U% (anonymous login) This is fine for win9x, however, winxp (home, and prof if not in simple security and with guest enabled) doesn't like this, it wants you use a login name (whatever you like, random) smbclient -L srv -Ufoo% or smbclient -L srv -Ufoo%bar will do I don't know if it would be convenient to use "guest" instead of "foo". I tried and they both work. Right now nautilus unnecessarily asks for a password to list winxp shares when there's no password to input. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.1.91-4
Can you try this with gnome-vfs2-extras 0.99.10. I think this is fixed.
I tried 0.99.10-1 and problem is still there. When you browse xp computers you are asked for user/pass, you then can type whatever and are given access.
