Description of problem: If ssmtp is reading a message slowly from stdin, it inserts garbage NULL characters. This results in failed deliveries to e-mail servers that reject such messages (Cyrus IMAPD, for example). Make a script that outputs output slowly, and perhaps also not writing complete lines all at once. 2. Make sure the e-mail is sent to a Cyrus IMAPD server, or to a queue-only MTA where you can inspect the contents of the mail as received from ssmtp 3. Actual results: The message contains NULL characters as well as random junk (probably read from uinitialised memory). Any news on this actually being pushed to the repos? I've hit this bug on F16 and F17 with ssmtp handling email from cron, where the cron job creates its output slowly. The updates above seem to fix the problem for me.
