Description Stephen John Smoogen 2000-01-11 23:37:57 UTC
486 DX2 66
16 megs of RAM
SCSI Adaptec 1540
  200 meg HD (ID 0)
  800 meg HD (ID 3)
  2x cdrom (ID 6)
Etherlink III (irq 5)
MSBusmouse (irq 3)

It would seem that the MSbusmouse (and similar devices) are not being
properly detected during the install. THey need to have a line in
/etc/conf.modules to say what IRQ they are using. They may also need a
alias line but I am not sure (kernel hacker please fill in my empty head
:)).

options msbusmouse mouse_irq=XX

I can then insmod the msbusmouse module in and things work..

verified w/smooge's machine in test lab ... (thanks, smooge!)

Comment 2 Matt Wilson 2000-07-17 16:12:18 UTC
This won't be fixed any time soon, as busmice are ISA devices and we don't do
automatic detection of ISA things.

Could we remove such mice from the anaconda then? That would help set
expectations that they are or are not to be there. (Or was this done for 7.x)
