rhel5.9 black background of desktop

BTW, it can be changed the desktop backgroud by "System-->Preferences-->Desktop Backgroud". Best wish. sluo That's certainly not X's fault then. Moving to gnome, but I suspect you picked an odd set of packages up front. does "yum install nautilus" fix it? can you attach your install log file that shows the list of packages installed ? it's in /root i can't think of the name of it off hand. [root@localhost ~]# yum install nautilus Loaded plugins: product-id, security, subscription-manager This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register. Setting up Install Process Package nautilus-2.16.2-10.el5.x86_64 already installed and latest version Nothing to do And when I install the system, I full installed the "X Window System", "GNOME Desktop Environment" and "GNOME Software Development" groups. rhel5.9 guest after a fresh install
Hi,
Please check the attachment. In the screenshot, after I click "delete", then get a black background. And if I click "Don't delete", sometimes get black background too.

The first time login,the desktop icons and right button menu is ok,but if you execute "init 3 "in the terminal ,then on the runlevel 3 execute "init 5" back to runlevel 5,the problem occured.Reboot the rhel5.9 may OS occur the same problem.
