Description of problem:

1. A static route should not normally be interface-specific.

2. The default gateway should also not normally be interface-specific.


The Network Interfaces chapter should be improved to explain interface-specific options in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX config files and global options in the /etc/sysconfig/network file.

Copy recent improvements from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Deployment Guide into this guide.
