Description of problem: When text is scrolled or edited in GUI vim, underscore and some other characters are not redrawn properly and leave artifacts. Actual results: Some characters leave artifacts Expected results: Text scrolled with no artifacts left Additional info: A possible workaround is to increase linespace ":set linespace=2". Looks like the problem is caused by antialiasing. When it's turned off, the artifacts do not appear. However, if antialiasing is enabled and hinting is set to medium or full, the artifacts are shown. Thanks, Val.
I don't think that this is a vim problem. The whole output of gvim is handled by the pango libraries

That looks good on f19 with DejaVu Sans Mono. but with VL Gothic on Japanese locale say. underscore is always not rendered properly. I gueess this may be same to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=607419
I see the same problem with DejaVu Sans Mono in gvim at 10.5pt on F20---the underscores are invisible at Slight hinting, which is unfortunately the hinting setting which I want.
