Fedora 18 changes the way how to work with services in spec files. It introduces new macros - %systemd_post, %systemd_preun and %systemd_postun; which replace scriptlets from Fedora 17 and older (see https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:ScriptletSnippets#Systemd, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850016).
Would be fine if dm-event.socket, lvm2-lvmetad.socket and lvm2-monitor.service is enabled by default globally in the preset file - bug #857010.
The latest lvm2/device-mapper rawhide build makes use of these macros (lvm2-2.02.98-1.fc19). I'll keep the build in rawhide for a while and then I'll make an update F18 as well.
