RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2013:0350 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE subscription-manager bug fix and enhancement update 2013-02-20 20:53:35 UTC

Description Matt Reid 2012-08-21 15:07:33 UTC
Description of problem:

We don't recognize hitting enter when users are entering credentials in subscription-manager, but do in our Classic tooling.

Registering through rhn_register register dialog:
1. User fills out username
2. fills out password
3. presses enter, dialog advances to next screen

Registering through subscription-manager register dialog:
1. User fills out username
2. fills out password
3. presses enter, waits for something to happen, nothing happens
4. presses tab 4 times to navigate to register button
5. presses enter

It would be nice to be consistent across these tools and allow them to hit enter after entering their credentials if they don't want to change anything else (this would skip over setting System Name & opting out of auto-subscribe in subscription-manager).

850430: Pressing Enter in the password entry now activates registration.

By setting the "Can Default" and "Has Default" properties on the
register button and by setting the "Activates Default" property
on the password entry field, we can make pressing Enter in the
password entry field automatically begin the registration process.

Available in subscription-manager-1.1.6-1+

Verifying Version...
[root@jsefler-6 ~]# rpm -q subscription-manager-gui
subscription-manager-gui-1.1.9-1.el6.x86_64

The new enter key bindings while the focus is on the password field works great.
This function has been desired for a looooong time. Thanks.

Note: This same binding does NOT apply in firstboot.
