- Using desktop (cinnamon) - nautilus, paste a folder name in location bar - mouse keeps responding, cursor updating. - keyboard and window management stopped. - ctrl-alt-back space= nothing - remote ping: ok. - ssh in: ok. - top: shows X at 99.9 % of one CPU - strace shows SIGALRM, SI_KERNEL continuously - kill -9 X (pid):. after a second, screen goes black - then login desktop is shown, normal login, seems OK.
