Description of problem: DuckDuckGo is a general purpose search engine with real privacy (we do not collect or share personal information), less spam/clutter and instant answers. We would like to be included as a search option in Firefox. Additional info: Please add https://duckduckgo.com/?q={{search}}&t=fedora so that we can count the number of searches from Fedora. Opensearch: https://duckduckgo.com/opensearch_ssl.xml Thanks!
We use the default settings that mozilla provides...why is not DuckDuckGo included in firefox shipped by mozilla?
Mozilla hasn't added us to Firefox. We are however available in Debian, Ubuntu (Canonical), Linux Mint and several other distors: http://help.duckduckgo.com/customer/portal/articles/216425-linux-distributions None of the existing options on Firefox provide privacy. We do not collect or share personal information (https://duckduckgo.com/privacy.html) and therefore are an excellent choice for many of your users that care about privacy. Please let me know if you would like any additional information.
Can you attach a firefox patch for it here?
Created attachment 632829 [details] Firefox patch with DuckDuckGo as a search option. Patch attached.
Now in rawhide. Closing.
