Description of Problem: It's currently impossible to change a file's ownership in nautilus. As it is now, you have to resort to the command line to change ownership of files, and if the graphical desktop environment and Linux on the desktop shall be able to succeed, the user should not have to use the command line at all. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Right-click on a file that you don't own and select Properties 2. Go to the Permissions tab Actual Results: There's no "Authorize" button allowing you to su to another identity below the text "You're not the user of this file and cannot change the permissions.." Expected Results: A button allowing you to su for the simple purpose of changing the ownership a file How often does this happen? Always. Additional Information: You can graphically su as root to administrate users&groups, services, network configs, printers etc - but ironically not change the ownership of a simple file :)
