Created attachment 615663 [details] screenshot showing Date and Time dialog without a time zone displayed Description of problem: During installation, the time zone is selected, but during firstboot the time zone is not displayed in any form in the Date and Time dialog. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): firstboot-18.4-1.fc18.x86_64 How reproducible: Presumably always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install F18 in a VM: $ qemu-kvm -m 1024 -hda f18-test-2.img -cdrom ~/xfr/fedora/F18/F18-Alpha/RC3/Fedora-18-Alpha-x86_64-netinst.iso -vga qxl -boot menu=on 2. Reboot. 3. Proceed in firstboot to the Date and Time dialog. Actual results: See attached screenshot. Expected results: The time zone is displayed. Additional info: If the firstboot Date and Time dialog is going to ask the user to set the time, why not also ask the user to set the time zone? This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
The firstboot utility is deprecated and no longer developed in Fedora 19 and newer releases. It was replaced by the initial-setup utility with a completely different codebase. If you still have any similar problems with Fedora 19 or later, please file a new bug against initial-setup or gnome-initial-setup if you did a GNOME install.
