Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 862507
CVE-2012-5238 wireshark: Application abort due to wrong variable type in PPP dissector
Last modified: 2012-10-03 04:22:12 EDT
Wireshark failed to properly assign data-type for some data field parsed via the PPP dissector. It may be possible to make Wireshark crash by injecting a malformed packet onto the wire or by convincing someone to read a malformed packet trace file.
