Description Need Real Name 2003-03-21 07:16:18 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98; Cox High Speed
Internet Customer)

Description of problem:
Install goes fine. No errors, no problems... Boot up the system and it does the
boot process until this point:

hda: 58633344 sectors (30020 MB) w/1900KiB Cache, CHS=3649/255/63, UDMA
blk: queue c03ba1a0, I/O limit 4095 Mb (mask 0xffffffff)
blk: queue c03ba1a0, I/O limit 4095 Mb (mask 0xffffffff)

It then freezes. The cursor keeps blinking, but Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't work
and the system will not respond. I have to restart by flippin' the power switch.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot System
2.
3.

Actual Results: Boom (System freeze, must restart)

Expected Results: Linux to boot. (Greedy, I know)

Additional info:

I boot from a boot disk as opposed to GRUB or LILO. However, when I have tried
booting from those it did the same thing. In my current install I didn't
install a bootloader.

what kind of system is this ?

Comment 2 Need Real Name 2003-03-21 18:38:18 UTC
i386 compatible... or more specifically a Gateway with a AMD Athlon processor,
160 MB RAM, and two IDE Hard Drives. I have Linux installed on the second hard
drive.
