Description of problem: There is big delay when stopping tuned service. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): tuned-2.0.2-1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. systemctl start tuned.service 2. tuned-adm profile powersave 3. systemctl stop tuned.service Actual results: Big delay (timeout) until systemctl returns. Expected results: No delay. Additional info: Maybe systemd issue, will investigate more deep.
This seems to happen if the tuning thread dies due to unhandled exception. I believe this is already fixed upstream. Package update is coming soon.
Hm... the problem still appears from time to time after the update. And sometimes there is a large timeout even when starting the service. Maybe there is something wrong with creating/deleting the PID file.
Should be resolved with my last commit, I cleaned up everything around forking: http://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/tuned.git/commit/?id=000e82f
