RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description J.C. Molet 2012-10-23 17:19:42 UTC
Description of problem:
The product ID seems to be missing from the Product Details in subscription-manager-gui. This information is given in subscription-manager list --installed, and the gui/cli should both give the same information.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
subscription-manager-gui-1.1.3-1.git.29.1721610.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fire up subscription-manager-gui
2. Make sure you have a product installed
3. Compare the outputs of the fields given in the cli "subscription-manager list --installed" and the fields given in the 'My Installed Products' tab of subscription-manager-gui

Actual results:
All fields are given except for the ProductID field.

Expected results:
The gui and cli both show the same fields.

Additional info:
Please add the appropriate at-spi label for the text field (ie "Product ID Text" or similar) so that automation can test for this.

Matt, Can you please comment on this. I believe we removed this per your direction in the RHEL 5.9 time frame.

Comment 2 Matt Reid 2012-10-30 15:24:38 UTC
I believe the argument against it was that seeing Product ID: 69 didn't mean anything to customers, and that if they ever needed it (likely due to a support call) we could either direct them to the CLI or gather it from an sosreport. I think it was removed accidentally in one of the updates to that details pane, and when we talked about putting it back, we weren't able to come up with a very compelling reason to have it.

If we need to revisit that decision, we can certainly do that. Does showing it provide any benefit, other than keeping displayed information consistent between CLI and GUI?

TBH, I have no issue with the CLI providing more data. Closing htis out.
