Anaconda right after starting

Description of problem:
When anaconda starts and displays the language selection screen, English is selected by default, but you can't tell because the default selection is not correctly scrolled into view.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 18-Beta-TC6 DVD

Comment 1 Volker Sobek 2012-10-27 13:34:41 UTC
This is a race condition. This only happens in the test VM when the host is under heavy load. When it is not, English is visible. From what I could see it looks like English is selected before the list has been fully populated, so the further populating moves the selection out of the view again.

I have experienced it a few times.

Man, they don't make this stuff easy. Can you please try out updates=http://clumens.fedorapeople.org/870625.img and let me know if this is working better for you?

No, it appears to break things.

Comment 6 Chris Lumens 2012-10-31 13:51:45 UTC
Oh, that's because you need something else in the updates.img. But don't worry about it, because the fix I was trying out just moves the problem to the bottom of the view in certain cases.

Comment 7 Chris Lumens 2013-04-04 17:44:19 UTC
I've not seen it scrolled off the screen in a long time now, so I'm just going to close this as good enough. It's not ideal, but I've not been able to make it work the way I want even with a lot of trying.
