This might be a F18 blocker:
All applications listed under the Applications menu or category must withstand a basic functionality test and not crash after a few minutes of normal use. They must also have working Help and Help -> About menu items
Steps to reproduce:
1) Download font from http://runamux.net/search/view/file/FOJBMiWH/Ubuntu-BI.html
2) gnome-font-viewer Ubuntu-BI.ttf
3) Click Install
I pushed a fix for this crasher in the gnome-3-6 branch upstream . I might be able to release a 3.6.2 tarball with the fix included (or we could import the patch in our rpm).
Opened a font, and clicked 'Install'.
OS Release: Fedora release 18 (Spherical Cow)
There is no segfault any more (gnome-font-viewer-3.6.1-1.fc18), the font is installed but the dialog says 'Install Failed'
Discussed at 2012-12-05 blocker review meeting - http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-bugzappers/2012-12-05/f18final-blocker-review-2.2012-12-05-17.01.log.txt . Agreed we need some more certainty on the precise behaviour with currently-stable gnome-font-viewer to determine blocker status; tests have been inconclusive as to whether it reliably crashes or just displays bogus errors. If it is reliably crashing, we are likely to accept this as a release blocker.
I released a 3.6.2 tarball now, and made a scratch build for testing. 3.6.1 would still crash. Unfortunately I don't have commit access to this package, so feel free to do the update after verifying the fix.
I've successfully installed a font with 3.6.2 build.

thanks - I'll try to ping Rui or I'll use provenpackager rights to build 3.6.2 as Petr confirmed it works.
