I've just sent an email to one of the Balabit's contacts requesting additional information about the future of the syslog-ng 3.3 support in face of the pending release of version 3.5.

Is there a mirror for these SRPMs? The site doesn't appear to be responsive at the moment. Also, is there progress on putting this in EPEL?
There are two problems: - discussed off bugzilla: current EPEL policy prohibits package updates, if it involves configuration editing, unless there is a known security issue with it. I'm not aware of any. - I don't have a copy of the updated EPEL packages What I can do, is to provide EPEL6 packages in Copr, the Fedora build service. The easiest / fastest would be to update the latest srpm from JPO, if he still has it somewhere. Other way I can put it on my ToDo list, but it's a long list, so would be a few weeks away.
Peter: Thanks for the response. COPR would work for me in the event that JPO doesn't get those SRPMs hosted elsewhere. Thanks a lot. In case you were wondering, I'm specifically looking for the mongodb functionality in newer versions of syslog-ng.
Until JPO shows up with more proper SRPMs, I prepared a package for RHEL6. From the changelog: * Tue Aug 19 2014 Peter Czanik <czanik> - 3.5.6-2 - adopt EPEL7 package to EPEL6 by messing all possible packaging guidelines - bundling missing libraries - /usr/sbin in RHEL6 - etc. So use at your own risk, and let me know, if you run into any trouble.

I am also interested in this as it appears that the threaded option for multi-threaded support is not available in the currently packaged version (3.2.x)
