Comment 16 Martin Banas 2012-11-07 10:56:37 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. On machine with 4 disks, create default partitioning, and set /root to RAID.
2. Deselect all RAID options, and select only "Redundant".
3. Click on apply changes.
4. Traceback

Comment 18 Dave Cantrell 2012-11-13 15:47:57 UTC
Trying to set up / as a RAID-5 device, keep getting this traceback. I have tried various combinations of the RAID checkboxes, but am unable to select striping and distributed error checking. The best I've been able to get is RAID-4. I'm filing this so I don't forget about it.

Package: anaconda-18.28
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 19 Michal Schmidt 2012-11-14 10:17:34 UTC
In manual partitioning I deleted all existing partitions, then proceeded to add a partition for "/".

Package: anaconda-18.28
OS Release: Fedora release 18-Beta-TC8

Comment 20 Reartes Guillermo 2012-11-16 18:09:51 UTC
boot, there was a previous btrfs f18 install.
selected both disks (set type to btrfs) and went to manual partitioning, deleted all in the unknown tree
then i tried to create a /boot of 512mb but i could not...

Package: anaconda-18.29
OS Release: Fedora release 18-Beta-TC9

Comment 21 Marcus 2012-11-17 18:21:58 UTC
Anaconda crashed, when I choose a 'Desired Capacity' for a new partition. It doesn't show what unit size, so I tested the number 12 and it crashed when clicking 'Add mount Point'

Package: anaconda-18.29-1.fc18.i686
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 25 Marcus 2012-11-22 17:16:29 UTC
RC1
partition sheme btrfs
delete existing partitions
create new partition crashes on clicking add mount point

Package: anaconda-18.29.2-1.fc18.x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 26 Adam Williamson 2012-11-22 21:44:28 UTC
marcus: as this was not considered important enough to break beta freeze, the fix will land after Beta, no Beta build will have the fix.

Comment 27 Braden McDaniel 2012-11-28 01:39:44 UTC
Tried to create a partition.

Package: anaconda-18.29.2-1.fc18.x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 28 Chida 2012-11-28 17:23:29 UTC
- Anaconda installer during installation, selected "customize partition", selected "/" for mount point, entered 7000M for 'Desired Capacity' and it crashed,

Package: anaconda-18.29.2-1.fc18.x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 29 Nikolai Maziashvili 2012-12-06 10:44:41 UTC
Manual prtition scheme - btrfs - add boot partition. (f18 is being installed as kvm guest)

Package: anaconda-18.29.2-1.fc18.x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 18

Comment 30 Gen Zhang 2012-12-16 21:01:50 UTC
Specified "1GB" for disk size

Package: anaconda-18.29.2
OS Release: Fedora release 18-Beta

Comment 31 Adam Williamson 2012-12-17 22:24:36 UTC
For all those hitting this with Beta - you might want to try one of the Final TC builds: https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/18-TC3/ is the latest. These aren't official pre-releases and still have other bugs, but in general they're in decent shape and do not suffer from this bug.

Comment 32 Louis Silvestro 2012-12-22 00:26:02 UTC
Attempted creation of a partition for root filesystem failed with error "unknown error has occured" during installation with anaconda in Fedora 18 Beta

Package: anaconda-18.29.2
OS Release: Fedora release 18-Beta

Comment 33 Ejner Fergo 2013-01-04 21:41:44 UTC
Create new root partition, typed 74 GB for size, error when continuing.

Package: anaconda-18.29.2
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 18-Beta

Comment 34 Adam Williamson 2013-01-04 22:26:10 UTC
I can't reproduce any of the sizing issues with Final and we have no dupes of this with anything post-18.29. So marked as fixed. If anyone can reproduce with a Final build - latest is https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/18-TC4/ - please re-open, or post a comment asking to re-open.
