Description Paul Cuzner 2012-11-08 14:24:04 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently split brain activity, or even self heal, do not get surfaced to the RHS-C. Without this level of visibility, the customer is unaware of the data exposure that they may be under until the issue manifests as data loss or slow performance.

It is therefore requested that these types of repair activity get flagged to the console in a similar manner to the RFE in BZ 844333

An example of this issue has already occured in Production with a customer. Split brain messages were seen in the log, 24 hours before the customer noticed they had an issue after nodes went offline!

Planned feature enhancement:
Split brain status alert will be shown in RHS-C if monitoring is enabled via Nagios. This alert will come up in the Dashboard as well as Alerts tab

Comment 10 Dusmant 2016-01-06 07:00:26 UTC
This feature request is indirectly addressed by virtue of another feature request, as captured in the BZ 1081900 -- [Nagios] [RFE] Alerting mechanism for split-brain from Nagios

This feature is available from RHGS-C 3.1.

Current bug was opened on 2.0 and that's already EOLed long back, hence marking this bug as CLOSED.
