Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:

Register a system to system engine. Add a package on that system using `yum install packageX`. Go back to package details in system engine for that system. PackageX does not show up in the list.

There is a cache file of the currently installed packages in /var/lib/rhsm/packages/packages.json created at 'subscription-manager register' time. When rhsmcertd refreshes, this cache is compared against the currently installed packages and if different it is sent up to katello. The default refresh frequency is 240 minutes (adjustable in /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf as certFrequency).

I would agree that there is probably room for an RFE surrounding this somewhere. Should packages be sent up immediately, triggered by the yum plugin?
