+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #868694 +++ Description of problem: Logging in to webadmin using IE8 on Windows XP is extremely slow or times out. If login does succeed, navigation through webadmin is extremely slow as well. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEV 3.1 beta 3 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Login to webadmin using through IE8 on Windows XP Actual results: Login will take several minutes or timeout. Ater a successful login webadmin still extremely slow to navigate. Expected results: Normal responsetimes compared to Firefox on the same Windows XP system. Additional info: Issue has been reproduced by Simon Grinberg already.
As discussed with Miki IE8/WinXP needs to be removed from the list of supported clients for the WebAdmin portal. If (when) engineering come up with a solution for users of this platform then it will need to be advertised via the release notes. I anticipate impact in at least: Install Guide Eval Guide Quick Start Guide Administration Guide? Note that we're only dropping it for WebAdmin, it is still expected to work and be supported for User Portal access.
Hi Cheryn, Can you arrange for someone to do the Eval/Quick Start/Admin Changes as needed? As we're pretty much done with the RHN updates this should be the final set of updates (I hope). Steve
NB: Any of these that don't get done in BNE business hours I will pick up in the AM here.
One topic in the administration guide mentioned Internet Explorer 8 and Windows XP in the context of accessing the Administrator Portal, topic 8193: Jasper Reports System Requirements. I removed it, and repushed to Zanata.
All of these changes will be picked up when we repush the affected guides to Zanata to take into account changes made to resolve BZ#874708.
QS and Eval are clean of any references to IE8 and WinXP in the list of supported clients to the WebAdmin portal.
UP and PUP are also clean. 3.1-FINAL updated for: QS Eval UP PUP
Clearing the NEEDINFO on Cheryn. I will build rhevm-doc today to pick up all the last minute changes.

Moving this back to QA as I believe the typo to be fixed.
