I returned the card and I don't have those warning at each reboot now.
Comment 6 suggest that we won't be able to discover any new information or to test any potential fixes. Still, Larry might be interested...?
As a last comment, my network was unusable with wifi and with my research to make it work, it seem the rtl8192ce realtek driver is really buggy. My network was ?randomly? freezing (ie :no more transmission for a certain time but still associated).Sometime I had to disconnect/reconnect to make work again and sometime it was recovering alone. Also, I couldn't acheive high troughput with it and when I was doing a lot of traffic, it seem that was triggering the bug. One of the workaround that make it somehow more usable / stable was when I disabled power saving. I don't know if those warning are associated with the behavior I describe above but I wanted to let you know. Regards.
I installed Fedora on a new PC built by myself and this bug occured after i updated Fedora and rebooted after that. I don't really know, but it seems to be a problem with the graphic card or driver. Package: kernel OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle)
A lot of rtl8192ce changes are part of kernel 3.10; however, the changes are too invasive to be backported to 3.6. Are there experimental 3.10-rcX kernels for Fedora 17?
Lemme check around Larry.. Certainly, for isolation purposes is should be close enough to test a plain upstream kernel, if that helps move you forward. Can you do that? Alternatively, not sure if what you need is available in 3.8, may need something later.. Quick look on my F17 laptop shows 3.8.13-100.fc17, latest low hanging fruit.. Does that help?
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '17'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 17 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 17 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-07-30. Fedora 17 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
