Paths are parsed by the EAP components so this is probably an EAP issue. Since ER5 will be based on EAP 6.0.1 it would be a good idea to retest it with that.
ER6 on Windows - all cases (characters in path) can start server now. This was fixed for $ sign. But I can still experience some problems in locating logging prop. file. See: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBQA-7353 for details please. Not sure about setting BZ to Verified because of problem [1] in JIRA.
Again, please, see details in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBQA-7353. Exclamation mark at the end of directory name causes problems. I am setting BZ back to ON_DEV because of problems [1] for Windows and [3] for exclamation mark.
