In Red Hat JBoss Data Grid, when special characters are used in the directory path, the JBoss Data Grid server either fails to start or a configuration file used for logging cannot be loaded properly. Special characters that cause problems include spaces, <literal>#</literal> (hash sign), <literal>!</literal> (exclamation mark), <literal>%</literal> (percentage sign), and <literal>$</literal> (dollar sign).
This is a known issue in JBoss Data Grid 6.4. A workaround for this issue is to avoid using special characters in the directory path.

Paths are parsed by the EAP components so this is probably an EAP issue. Since ER5 will be based on EAP 6.0.1 it would be a good idea to retest it with that. ER6 on Windows - all cases (characters in path) can start server now. This was fixed for $ sign. But I can still experience some problems in locating logging prop. file. See: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBQA-7353 for details please. Not sure about setting BZ to Verified because of problem [1] in JIRA. Again, please, see details in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBQA-7353. Exclamation mark at the end of directory name causes problems. I am setting BZ back to ON_DEV because of problems [1] for Windows and [3] for exclamation mark. Ivo Studensky <istudens> made a comment on jira JBPAPP-10411 The issues with national characters and white-spaces should now be fixed. Note that white-space issues of webservices are covered by JBPAPP-10417. Set flag to nominate this bug for 6.2 release notes. Carlo de Wolf <cdewolf> updated the status of jira JBPAPP-10411 to Resolved This product has been discontinued or is no longer tracked in Red Hat Bugzilla. |
