1. On a host with a long list of VMs, select a VM, then scroll down till it's not visible.
2. When the page refreshes, the list 'jumps' back to make that selected VM visible.

Why? This is common behavior for many application. Going back to the selected item on a refresh request.  

Unless you are referring to the auto-refresh of the VM list and not a manual refresh of the browser page.

I am refrering (of course) to the auto-refresh.

my hunch is that it doesn't happen only in the VMs main grid, but in all main grids, and probably in sub-tab grids as well (if they have enough items in them).

sf13, it still jumps back to selected item in IE (tested in w2k8r2 and w2k12). Firefox in rhel6 is OK.

I can reproduce it all the time with IE10 on win7. I can make it happen sometimes in Chrome on Fedora17. Unable to reproduce in IE9 or 8, nor on FF in any VM I tried.

OK, sf16.1 (ie9, ie10, ff; ie8 not supported for admin portal but looks OK).
