Description of problem: I was scanning dilbert comics on the Comic widget, and during a transitioon to the next one, there was some sort of hicup in the network (I guess) which lead to an endless loading cycle for getting to the next one, then suddenly the whole workspace crashed (only recovered by either restarting X or reboot). I see this too with "Non Sequitur" and other comics which are indexed by date and not published every day. "Non Sequitur" does not appear on Sundays, and if you view Monday's and then hit the previous button, plasma desktop will always crash. For comics which are not indexed by date this is not a problem. The most recent crash was from "Pooch Cafe", with an error in the plasma-desktop output: plasma-desktop(32378) ComicEngine::error: "poochcafe:2013-03-31" pluging reported an error. NB I'm inferring the indexing from the format of the "Jump to strip" dialog.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '17'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 17 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 17 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-07-30. Fedora 17 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
This still happens on Fedora 19.
Right, see also the duplicate, bumping Version and reopening.

kde-plasma crashes when comic widget tries to display unavailable strip Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add comic widget to desktop 2. Add for example "pooch cafe" 3. On a monday, press back to go to previous strip (pooch cafe has no Sunday issue) 4. Plasma crashes: everything goes black except open windows, so kwin doesn't. reporter: libreport-2.1.9 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /usr/bin/plasma-desktop crash_function: QDateTimeParser::parseFormat executable: /usr/bin/plasma-desktop kernel: 3.11.6-200.fc19.x86_64 package: kde-workspace-4.11.3-1.fc19 reason: Process /usr/bin/plasma-desktop was killed by signal 11 (SIGSEGV) runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000

Still present up to F21. It looks like it won't get fixed upstream now that the KDE5 is around the corner, I guess...
given we have a good/accepted upstream report, let's continue tracking there.
