Description of problem:
When using nV graphics in discrete graphics mode the display doesn't wake up on lid open. Switching to VT doesn't help, screen is still blank.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot in discrete graphics mode
2. Set "Blank screen" When laptop lid is closed
3. Close the lid
4. Open the lid
Actual results:
Screen stays blank
Expected results:
Screen wakes up.
Additional info:
Correction: The problem happens only when the laptop is docked with external monitor connected.
When I close the lid, external screens stays active, e.g. display conf. changes - external screen on, lvds off. But when I open the lid both screens are blank. Cannot change to VT, Xorg fails to restart.
What is working: Opening lid when laptop is not docked, even if lid was closed while docked.

propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Probably duplicate of bz#853226 - the scratch build also solved this issue with lid open while docked.
