RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Surprisingly the resource is deleted, can be recreated and everything seems working well.

These errors then re-appear also each time pacemaker is restarted.

I have also noticed the last line (Bad UUID) appearing when resources are removed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pacemaker-1.1.8-4.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. setup 2-node cluster (cman+pacemaker)
2. create a resource (pcs resource create ClusterIP ocf:heartbeat:IPaddr2 params ip=192.168.101.101 cidr_netmask=32 op monitor interval=30s)
3. wait for it to start, then move it (pcs resource move ClusterIP)
4. wait for it to start on the other node, stop it (pcs resource stop ClusterIP)
5. remove the resource (pcs resource delete ClusterIP)

Actual results:
scary logging

Expected results:
no scary logging, it should behave as in the case where resource was not moved

crm_report for 1.1.8-5

I updated the cluster to the new 1.1.8-5 build to see if this still occurred. It definitely does. I've uploaded a crm_report for 1.1.8-5.

Comment 5 David Vossel 2012-12-14 18:46:10 UTC
It appears that the 'pcs resource delete ClusterIP' performs two operations on the cib using cibadmin back to back.

cibadmin -c -R --xml-text "<constraints>"
cibadmin -o resources -D --xpath "//primitive[@id='ClusterIP']"

If I manually execute those two commands with a 2 second sleep between them instead of doing 'pcs resource delete ClusterIP', I do not see the digest error. That seems to indicate that this is some sort of race condition.

Comment 6 David Vossel 2012-12-17 23:27:04 UTC
This isn't a race condition. Ignore my previous post.

We are allowing text nodes into the cib because of how pcs is deleting the constraint. That causes validation problems later on.

A patch has been committed upstream for this.

Comment 8 Jaroslav Kortus 2013-01-22 15:57:50 UTC
The scary logging is gone, everything in the reproducer works as expected, marking as verified with pacemaker-1.1.8-7.el6.x86_64.
