Hi! with current build options (--enable-ncurses), it seems that tin is linked against libncurses, but that the related code is not compiled, due to missing macros in include/autoconf.h: $ grep CURSES tin-2.0.1/include/autoconf.h # define HAVE_CURSES_H 1 /* # undef HAVE_NCURSESW_NCURSES_H */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSESW_TERM_H */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_H */ /* obsolete versions of ncurses */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_NCURSES_H */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_TERM_H */ /* # undef HAVE_XCURSES */ /* # undef NEED_CURSES_H */ /* # undef USE_CURSES */ /* # undef XCURSES */ /* # undef WIDEC_CURSES */ I suggest configuring tin with --with-screen=ncursesw, instead : $ grep CURSES tin-2.0.1/include/autoconf.h # define HAVE_CURSES_H 1 # define HAVE_NCURSESW_NCURSES_H 1 /* # undef HAVE_NCURSESW_TERM_H */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_H */ /* obsolete versions of ncurses */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_NCURSES_H */ /* # undef HAVE_NCURSES_TERM_H */ /* # undef HAVE_XCURSES */ /* # undef NEED_CURSES_H */ # define USE_CURSES 1 /* # undef XCURSES */ /* # undef WIDEC_CURSES */
As a side note, I noticed the problem while trying to figure out why tin is using an opaque black background in my gnome-terminal, although the gnome-terminal is configured with a transparent background, and col_back=-1 in the tinrc file.
Thanks for the report. Will build an update soon.
