What were you doing when this happened?

Can you duplicate it?

Can you try the latest exo and Thunar just now going to updates-testing and see if the problem persists?

Comment 12 Miro Hrončok 2013-01-02 18:18:18 UTC
OK, I'm not sure which of Bug 891332 and Bug 891310 is which, we may set them as duplicities.

In both cases, I was copying files (entire folders) from USB disk (connected over SATA2USB) to local disk. Once as a normal user, once as root.

Nothing special was done exactly before the crash, but I thing it was immediately after a click. Sorry for not being very specific. I could play with a bit, but I have no stepst to reproduce. It happened 3 times in a few hours.

I'll try to reproduce and write down the steps. Than I try with the update.

Sorry, cannot reproduce.

Comment 15 Miro Hrončok 2013-01-03 09:06:02 UTC
Oh, it happened again.

1. Connected external drive via USB
2. Run pvscan && lvchange -a y /dev/vg_t61/lv_home
3. Mounted the volume in Thunar (clicked in left panel, enetered root password)
4. Opened my home in one tab, remote home (it is harddrive from an old laptop) in teh second tab
5. Copied a folder form remote home to my home
6. Deleting (Shift+Delete) some folders on remote at the same time (so both operations are present at the File manipulation dialog)
7. During the operations, Thunar crashed

When I tryed to do the exact same stpes right now, it just crashed withoud any file manipulations just after i clicked a folder.

Comment 16 Miro Hrončok 2013-01-06 23:01:53 UTC
No crash on Thunar-1.6.2-1.fc18 since last comment.

To avoid any missinformation: The crash in the last comment was at 1.6.1.

Comment 17 Kevin Fenzi 2013-01-07 16:26:01 UTC
Cool. Shall we close this out now? Or leave it around in case it reoccurs?

I guess I'll close it, but feel free to reopen if you see it again.

Comment 18 Miro Hrončok 2013-01-07 19:33:17 UTC
Hope it is over now, I'll let you know if anythng bad happens.

Comment 19 sam.petrocelli 2013-04-21 09:50:57 UTC
I deleted (moved to trash) a directory on my desktop that I was viewing in another window. Specifically, I was viewing a subdirectory of the deleted directory. The view of the subdirectory did not change when I deleted. In this window I clicked the back arrow, essentially trying to view a folder whose location had changed. This caused the segfault.

Comment 20 Kevin Fenzi 2013-04-21 17:18:59 UTC
Ah ha. Excellent work on finding the reproducer.

Would you be willing to file this upstream at bugzilla.xfce.org ? Or would you prefer I do so?

Comment 21 Miro Hrončok 2013-04-21 21:20:10 UTC
Smells like bug 907539, which is reported at https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9831
