I have the same problem with my upgrade from RH Linux (with SGI XFS extension) 8 to 9. The generated crash dump has been attached to this bug.
Is the original bug reporter using xfs as well? We do not support XFS.
I think, that this problem is not related to XFS but anaconda!
To my knowledge, I am not running xfs. If it is loaded, Red Hat 8 loaded when I installed it,
For a better understanding -- with XFS I mean the journaling filesystem coming from SGI, not the font server. The installation CD with XFS coming from SGI (ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs) is the modified CD #1 from RedHat distribution with additional XFS (filesystem) support.
We do not support the XFS filesystem.
I don't need support for XFS filesystem, but for anaconda. It denies the successfull "normal" upgrade to release 9. Yesteday I could process a upgrade due starting the linux kernel with NOPROBE option.
