Created attachment 672822 [details] Session log as saved from the Brasero error dialog. Description of problem: Burning data CDs or DVDs with Brasero fails right at the end of the process while ejecting the medium. Brasero pops up an error dialog: "Some files may be corrupted on the disc". The burned CD or DVD is unreadable. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): brasero-3.4.1-1.fc17.x86_64 How reproducible: Almost always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Brasero. 2. Create a data CD or DVD and add files. Use large files, for example two files 200 MB each, because the error might not appear with small files. 3. Burn to CD or DVD using default options. Actual results: The resulting CD or DVD is unreadable. Expected results: The CD or DVD should be readable. Additional info: This is on a Dell Precision 3400 workstation with an Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7200S player and up-to-date firmware level 102A.

Created attachment 672824 [details] Error dialog, while ejecting the CD The Brasero log attached to this bug report was generated by pushing the "Save Log" button.
Created attachment 672825 [details] Success message, after unchecking default option "burn the image directly without saving it to disc" It looks like option "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" is needed to reproduce this bug.
It's definitely the "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" option that is causing the error. My initial comment on the size of the file seems wrong: it's just that the "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" option was left unchecked when I tried with a smaller file (probably because of the prior error on larger files). I was again able to reproduce the error even with a small (15KB) file: * There's no error when the "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" option is unchecked. The resulting CD is read without problem. * There's an error when the "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" option is checked. The resulting CD cannot be read.
This looks like a clone of bug #714026 because symptoms are identical and unchecking "Burn the image directly without saving it to disc" works around this issue in both cases. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 714026 ***
