(Nothing to do with "aboot" -- but your "Install" routine isn't listed as a component.) Trying to run installer using RedHat 6.1 floppy + CD-ROM. When the installer goes into graphic mode with mouse support, it had a .5" missing vertical band about 3" in from the left side of the display. The mouse cursor also "bleeds" a dark horizontal bar from its right side to the rightmost side of the screen. The "(c)" symbol in the text has similar bleed. The missing vertical band makes it hard to read instructions and set some selections. (Can move it around by turning the "Help" margin on and off. And can get much of the info from the printed manuals that came with the package. Wary of partitioning my hard drive, though, without fully seeing what I am entering/clicking on screen. Tried to route the output through the laptop's S-video connector to a television display -- no joy. No recognizable display whatsoever. System: Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop, 15" screen, 1400x1050 resolution, AGP Mobility-P video, 8mb video ram. 128m memory. Purchased 11/99. Does not yet have the Dell (January 2000) drivers for Linux available at http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/system.asp?sid=INS_PNT_P03_7500&m=o&p=25 . (Not sure how to install them until after get Linux up and working.)
That video card is not supported in 6.1; use a text mode install. (the next release will support that card)
