Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Steps to Reproduce: 
 1. Ensure the 'nomodeset' kernel parameter is not set in your bootloader
    configuration.
 2. Ensure the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not exist, or is a valid file that
    uses the valid driver
 3. Create a second regular user account, if you do not already have one
    available, then log in as the first one.


 1. Trigger fast switching (click your name at the top right hand corner, then
    select Switch User).
 2. Log in with the second user account.
 3. Test switching from one account to the other and back again, with both
    logged in.



Actual results: 
After selecting "Switch User" and some black flashes the lock screen for the account originally logged in appears.

Expected results:
Fast user switching should work correctly, with no display issues on either
desktop.

Some additional info:
Not 100% reproducible, possibly has something to do with the delay between login and switching user.

I will attach the system log from after the issue, the only additional line appears to be:
[drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: Failed to idle channel 3.

This is on:
kernel-2.6.32-353.el6.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.1-3.el6.x86_64
