Description of problem: When running interactively packstack asks the user: Should Packstack install Glance ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Cinder ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Nova ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Horizon ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Swift ['y'|'n'] [y] : Given that in many cases packstack will be used for initial and proof of concept type deployments by users who are not necessarily intimately familiar with OpenStack it might be desirable to include slightly expanded prompts with the description of what the service does rather than just the code name. For example: Should Packstack install Glance image service ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Cinder volume service ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Nova compute service ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Horizon dashboard ['y'|'n'] [y] : Should Packstack install Swift object storage ['y'|'n'] [y] : It is my feeling we need to actively reinforce the ties between a given "name" and what it actually does in both the software and the documentation rather than just relying on the names. This will be particularly important as more services and functions with their own names turn up down the track.
Verified NVR: openstack-packstack-2012.2.3-0.1.dev454.el6ost.noarch Used packstack in interactive mode: # packstack Welcome to Installer setup utility Should Packstack install Glance image service [y|n] [y] : Should Packstack install Cinder volume service [y|n] [y] : Should Packstack install Nova compute service [y|n] [y] : Should Packstack install Horizon dashboard [y|n] [y] : Should Packstack install Swift object storage [y|n] [n] :
