project_key: JBPAPP6 I used vncserver and tried to install the installer GUI on dev13 Solaris 10 machine refer Ticket <URL: https://engineering.redhat.com/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=155647 > I was able to run through all the installation steps sucessfully and have the jboss binaries at desired location. However I could not find any shortcut and hence tried to manually check server startup from jboss-eap-6.0/bin using ./standalone.sh. This fails with stacktrace showing corrupt jboss-modules.jar. "Invalid or corrupt jarfile /qa/home/msadhukh/EAP-6.0.0.GA/jboss-eap-6.0/jboss-modules.jar I also tried Uninstalling it but it returned Invalid or corrupt jarfile uninstaller.jar There are three problems: 1) No shortcut 2) Server stratup fails 3) Uninstallation fails

Hey, We dont really have access to any vm's running solaris. Is it possible for me to get access to dev13 ?
yes i am working on dev13 you could use ssh to connect
Ok, awesome. Can you tell me address/account i am suppose to use to connect ? Thanks
Increasing priority, server start-up failure is really problem.
Java Version used java version "1.6.0_32" and yet i see above issues
Danesh, This seems like similar problem.....I set up the intstaller using jdk1.6 but the window for server startup still had jdk 1.5 hence lowering priority on this as well as server startup works. However I found that running Uninstaller from command line does not delete EAP-6.0.0-GA folder or contents within it. Also cannot see the shortcut created via vnc.

So i got a solaris 10 vm going. For me the uninstaller on it behaved as expected. It removed all but InstallationSummary.html when used with saying no to force deletion. And removed the entire folder when uninstalled with force deletion. As for the shortcuts yea i did not get them either. Seems Solaris needs the category for the .desktop file specified. We will look into that.

About issue 1) No shortcut This is a solaris/gnome bug. See JBPAPP-9940. Shortcuts appear after running: pkill gnome-panel
Docs QE Status: Removed: NEW
Closing this as this issue Wont fix as this is due to bug in Solaris gnome. It is not bug in EAP installer
